    i got a 96 3.8 maro

I'm getting headers and a hi flo cat in the near future, and already have a flowmaster 80 series dual outlet. I should have started out by getting the flowmaster catback, but too late for that...I was just wondering if the catback would be worth it since I already have the muffler, and it would only be the new tubing? I know it's bent better and flows better, but would it be worth nearly $300? (I had the flowmaster catback in mind)

depends what your goal is...if you're lookin for 13's or a record, mandrel-bent pipes are the only way to go. If you're just looking for a lil more excitement, then don't bother

Get a shop to make them for you. My car had just a flowmaster muffler with stock piping, and my muffler shop made me the rest of the pipes, mandrel bent, for $100 installed.

              Re: exhaust dilemma

The sound difference was noticable, it eliminated almost all of the rasp i was getting with just the muffler, which by itself I felt like it gave me no performance gains, just a sound diff. The car "feels" a bit faster, but I have also installed a fast toys ram air (before the piping was done) and a whisper lid. The only thing I wish I had done was go with 3" piping, because when and if I go FI i am going to have to change my whole catback. Definately worth it if you want to see gains from your car.
