Just installed whisper lid and took of maf screen

well i installed my whisper lid today and i took out the maf screen and mines a 98 camaro and like everyone said it sputters at idle, but it sounds pretty cool, kind of like a cam. i just wanted to ask if theres any negatives running without the maf screen.
