    Re: Cut-out Questions

I would say get it, if you just want the cutout and not the electric its only going to cost you around 30-40 bucks or so. I got the electric because I like the idea of being able to turn it from on to off while I am driving with a flip of a switch.

I don't see it killing the motor like someone said on this thread because you choose a source that is off when the key is removed and the car is shut off. Also don't see how it would tear up the underside. The only downfall I see with electric one is its price and would be more work to put it on. Your best bet would be to just buy the cheap cutout and try it out. If you don't like it, atleast you would be able to close it and didn't waste much money on it. Also if you want to hear soundclips or see more information on electric cutouts you could go to http://www.quicktimeperformance.com/QTEC/index.php.

Is it normal to have that much exhaust coming out the tail pipes with the cutout open? I would have thought there wouldn't be that much sneaking by.

i didnt say it killed the motor. i said the motor in the electric cutout itself dies and then you have to buy a new motor

it was about 20 degrees when that video was shot, so you're gonna see the slightest bit of condensation, cutout or no. That's the thing about cutouts; not 100% of the exhaust is going out of it...a good bit still goes thru the muffler

Sorry, not in my densly-packed neighborhood, but here's another in a mall parking lot

                      Re: Cut-out Questions

i fabbed up a cutout that dumped right after the cat. at first it "sounded" ok, but then i took it on the road and when it got into higher rpms sounded a little ricey, car stalled out at stop signs, oil pressure dropped, and lost alot of low end torque...but thats just my experience with cutouts  :(

                          Re: Cut-out Questions

ok gotcha. It's so hard to detect sarcasm on a computer. Didn't know if my thinking was off. I figured it would make more sense to wait till then because it will sound a hell of a lot better and the added power your getting out of the cam will not be adversly affected by the cut out. Helps that you got a supercharger too I'm sure, one day I'll get it all.
