I removed the MAF screen feeling more power and less restriction, and as for the question of is it safe I would say it is, the only thing that it could hurt is if something gets in the throttle body, but if something gets through the airfilter then that srceen isn't going to stop it so if its on or off u can still suck stuff in!!!!!!!

Re: MAF screen removal
that screen only starts noticably restricting the airflow into your engine at higher horsepower #'s (around 5-600 hp, someone correct me if im wrong). removing it only makes your engine vulnerable to larger debris. ive never heard of dyno proven numbers saying it helps, ive only heard people wanting to put the screen back in.2000 Camaro 3800 A4

Re: MAF screen removal
I was gonna take mine out today, but I couldn't get it out. I tried to pry it out, but was afraid I was gonna break it, and didn't want to just in case it made my car run horribly. Any tips to getting it out?~97 3.8L V6 Camaro~

Re: MAF screen removal
Don't take it out. It's in there for a reason and any minor restriction it has is not going to effect our cars or very many cars for that matter. It's a friggin placebo.Let's flip a coin. Heads I get tail, Tails I get head.
