mayby stupid question but i think about to cut the 2 airboxsilencer of the housing and glue the open parts closed from plexiglas or plastic/polyester is this a problem because the 98 dont have a straigth inlet and a other option is impossible because the strange way (not straigth) routing of the rubbers and the thing whit the wires on it , i must keep that i think it has 2 wires on it ,and also i want to cut of the ribbles inside the filterhouse/lid, see that on many pictures on the site ,and its working the say , iput a cool blue filter in it ,in combination whit the flowmaster 80 serie catback exhaust system .see pictures for details what i mean or is this a stupid idea :spank:

Re: airbox silencer cut off problem?
All you gotta do is search. I forgot exactly what's it's called but I'm pretty sure it's in the stickies at the top of the general tech section. Yeah you want to keep your IAT(the thing with two wires). I put mine together from parts I got at home depot, like $25 at most. You just need some hose couplers and a pvc pipe (45 angled). It will take some customizing and cutting of the hose so have patience.
I don't see it listed in the stickies but I know it's on the board. I found it when I got my car on here so it's somewhere.Last edited by youngsc; 01-15-2007, 12:00 PM.Let's flip a coin. Heads I get tail, Tails I get head.
