  • Vortex muffler

    Hey fellas.

My magnaflow muffler is busted. Rusted out. I brought it to Midas and they told me I needed a new one, and that they had a Vortex muffler on hand, but not an OEM muffler. The vortex is less expensive than the OEM replacement, and is allegedly "high performance". Before I make the decision, I was wondering if anybody on here knows anything about Vortex mufflers in general.

    Thanks.

Couldn't tell much, but if i remember there was a member who used to have one. Apparently he hated it and dumped it for a muffler from Summit Racing.

I'm pretty sure that is the name midas sticks on thieir own brand of "performance" muffler. On that note I thought magnaflow had some great warranty since it's supposed to be stainless?

In the end it's just a muffler dude, not going to make much of a difference, if they give you a lifetime warranty I say get it.

        Re: Vortex muffler

I had one...... When I bought my car with around 70k or or so someone had put one on prior. I had car for about 6 months and the driver side tail pipe fell off. When I finally got around to replacing it I took it to Midas and they told me what it was and I bought another vortex. It lasted about 20k, mostly highway, and is now on the side of the interstate in Cincinnatti. If you would like to go get it and re-weld it to your car be my guess.

To some it up, both of mine were rust buckets.
