high flow cat size

Is there no such thing as a 3" in/2.5" out high flow cat? I originally planned to go with a 2.5" cat-back so as not to lose my low end. Should I scrap that idea and go with a complete 3" system or just buy a 3" in/out cat and make the size switch in the s-pipe?

Just go with 3" your not going to lose much in the low end. But I'm sure that will start a debate. Most of the time the outlet is going to be bigger than the inlet.

i have 3" in/3" out and no complaints here. If you need to have 2.5" after the cat, you can always get a reducer pipe at your local car parts store for a couple bucks or have a shop get you one.

I called Jeg's, Dynomax, and Flowmaster to see if they sold this item or knew where I could find one......they all gave me the same line........
1st. Why would you want that? (reply) because I'm picky, and I have the money
2nd. We don't carry that item, only universal, but you could buy one and then use a reducer to get the size outlet that you want.

What are you trying to accomplish with this car? Are you setting it up to drag? DD? A cruiser with sound&power? Maybe with a little more information on what you are trying to accomplish and what year/model/engine size you have so someone that meets the same criteria could share their views on their experiences with cat. converters and exhaust setups.
