I already have 1 cutout on my car its a 98 with a flowmaster and 3 inch cutout it sounds great at idle but I was thinking about adding another 3 inch cutout has anyone else done this before I know people are gonna say I only need one but I just want to try something different. I will also be adding a 3 inch cat that same day.
Let me be clear though the cutouts will be open hardly ever the one I have is hardly ever open. I just wanna know where can I install it if I do go through with this idea
IT may just be louder thats why my car sounds mean with just one at idle and low rpms so another one couldn't do nothing but help it out soundwise plus Im adding a 3 inch cat and if Im not happy with it I can always change it back to one I'll keep ya'll updated on how everything comes out
If you were to run 2 cutouts, the only point would be to have them right at the merge collectors on ur headers so you could essentially run open headers.
2001 Arctic White Firebird<br />More mods than I\'m allowed to list!
good idea
eric, is that why you want 2? cause you want it louder? should've said so ;)
I've ran open headers on my L36
I hated it cause I couldnt hear CRAP. My passengers would have to scream at me.
Dont get me wrong, I'm a person that loves the sound of loud exhaust... but I would DEFINATELY
prefer to hear a loud 8 than a loud 6!! To me it just makes your 6 stick out like a sore thumb.
I've heard that running open headers can damage the exhaust valves (IDK, I only ran mine for 3k miles).

Im definitely not doing it for power because my car feels so much faster with the cutout closed this is just an expierment and me trying something different thats how we find out new things about our cars long *** its not too dangerous

Feels......key word, it actually gives you more power, it's just spread more evenly. Don't think two would do any good honestly, but if you are really interested try it and let us know how it goes.

Its like what $35 - $40 (plus shipping) for a base-model cutout
Its gonna be At Least that much to get a muffler shop to put the car on a lift, cut your piping, and then weld on the new cutout
You could save for headers or a cam or something instead
Just my opinion... your $$$ do what you will
BTW, I already KNOW how it is going to sound. Since I've ran straight open headers
Hell, you could take off your y-pipe and listen to that... you wont like it

Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
