Sorry to jack the thread but i was readin up on the laws bout cutouts. Won't they fail u when u get an E-check if ur exhaust is equipped with a cutout? I'd like to get one but i'm not dumpin 200 only to find out i need a new exhaust in 2 years

it depends on the state laws concerning car inspections...if there's a line item that says something to the tune of "The vehicle must have a complete exhaust system that exits behind the passenger compartment," then yea you'll fail the inspection

but if its capped, it would still exit behind the passenger compartment, maybe he could pass then?

i know PA has a law like that, but i know more than a few mustangs, and quite a few trucks that have their exhuast exit before the back tires.

most states if not all mandate that any and all modifications to the factory exhaust system is illegal

maybe...his chances are better if it doesn't leak, which e-cutouts are infamous for

yea, but what's the law and what's enforced are two completely different things, esp. concerning modded cars
