Help please...

I know almost nothing about cars, so please try and bear with me hear.

While I was having my truck fixed today, I looked at some of the cars they had for sale. One that I wanted that was there was a 1999 Camaro they had for sale there. I talked to the owner , who is a friend of mine, about the car. He said the mass airflow sensor was saying that it was broken and they had replaced it 2 or 3 times with no luck. Do you think it would be worth buying the car? And how would you fix that?

haha, that's pretty good for a used car if the MAF is the only problem. Let me guess...he has a K&N filter on the car? alot of the time, MAF's get fouled cuz people don't follow the directions and over-oil the thing.

Fixing it is easy as just replacing it...all you need is a philips-head screwdriver and 6 minutes.

are you serious?! My SES light come on the other week. I took it to the Chevy place and they siad it was the MAF... and charged me almost 300 bucks to fix it!!!! 30 of it was to check and see what was wrong!

sheesh, hope there was a line-item for some KY jelly on the invoice too...

MAF's are like $60 new
