Hey guys, I'm installing a magnaflow kit on my car, and unfortunately I cant because my I-pipe is stuck to the s-pipe. I took the nut off the exhaust clamp, but the i-pipe is still stuck. Any ideas as to what to do?
I checked for welds and nothing looks welded from what I can tell. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, because I cant keep driving around without a muffler for much longer.

Been working with the sawzall for the past 1/2 hour and gotten really nowhere with that. I'll give the torch idea a try right now. Otherwise if that doesnt work I'm still open to ideas, i'll post back after trying the torch and let you guys know.

^im thinking the same as you tom i just cut off my y pipe to install my headers the other day and it took no more than 5 minutes, sawsalls are one of the easiests power tools ive ever used
It was the clamp that connects the i-pipe to the s-pipe that i was trying to cut off. The problem was that the angle at which i had to cut with the sawzall wasnt the best, and didnt allow me to put enough pressure on the saw to cut through it. But thanks for the torch idea Tom, no more than 5 minutes of heating it up with the torch, and the i-pipe slid off easlily. Took only about 30 min to bolt up the magnaflow kit, and i was set.
Now I just have to get the tips further away from the bumper and I'll be good. Any tips for that then? I noticed the original rubber mounts dont work to well at pulling the back of the exhaust up, and lowering the tips.

if you got a 3" system made for a ls1, and didnt get a slp S pipe, you might need v8 hangers.
