bought my 80 series, now the ideas!

bought a 80 series today, now ive got some ideas for it. ive decided to be different and not go with the traditional tailpipes and all that stuff. im going to mount it up, and just on both outlets put two small elbow pieces of metal which will be painted black. i want it "hidden" i guess you would say. theres a few obstacles i have to come across first though, like the other mount that holds up the exhaust i have to make some kind of bracket to get it over to the mount because right now it wont be long enough to reach.

just wanted to run my ideas by you guys. i might have confused some of you with my ideas, oh well, once its done, pictures will do the talking.

why dont you just make a rough sketch of your ideas in paint or photoshop
I'm not following
Why not just make it so the exit pipe on the muffler turns down?
You gain more internal noise into the cabin of the car
and loose appearance cause you dont have tips

heres the best i can get, that will all be under the car of course, and im not sure whether ill point the lil elbos towards the rear or straight at the ground. havent decided. i have a lot of options to go with.

so basically dual turndowns? you're going to have to have the hangers moved back on the bend right off the muffler if you want that to work

^ ya lol that was the look. but i talked it over with my dad and we are just gonna weld on the traditional pipes comin out back, then ill get two chrome tips for each that will really set off the car since i have the black car with chrome rims, the more chrome the better.

FWIW, camaros generally can pull off the tip-less look alot better than Firebirds

I don't think your idea of having the turndown pipes coming directly off the muffler would work very well.

1. You will probably have a tendency to bottom out or srape them when hitting a bump or having more than two people in the car.

2. Depending on the direction of the wind it could direct fumes into the car.

JMO

1. those turndowns would have to be about 4" long to do that, and at that point, they'd be "tips-pointing-downward" not turndowns.

2. you run that risk with any sort of exhaust setup

Anyways, both of those are pretty big assertions to make just off of your opinion...after all, stock Y87 mufflers have dual turndowns, and they don't bottom-out or asphyxiate their passengers
