  • interchangeable plates on the passenger side of a Borla Catback

Hi. Did a search, nothing exactly answers, yada...

Anyway, just bought a '98 5sp with the Borla catback, and noticed a previous thread with the comment, 'interchangeable plates on the passenger side' re to adj baffles.

Did not ask PO, so I am wondering if those plates remain in the muffler, or must I buy some? Any hints on where I should look on the system?

Like the sound, but would enjoy it a bit more quiet.

    Thanks.

srry off subject but how does Borla sound on your 3.8? There's no sound clips on 3.8's and I just bought a Cat-Back...

Thanks, Ill ck the Borla site.

A bit loud for me, but I am 51!

I supposed as well as a 3800 can sound; they are pretty agri, IMHO. But I had an Alfa 164 with the 3.0, and it was music.
Ive said before, free-breathing 3800s sound like British mills to me. I had an MGB-GT with this low, pushrod sound, and it also reminds of the TR6...
There is some drone above 65-70mph, idle is almost stock to me. Upper half of rev range in 2nd gear hustling thru the backroads, it is almost sublime. Perhaps intake noise from Whispierlid/K&N helps. It's better than my '75 231 Starfire was!
Definately not hi-tech sounding! And, that's part of why I got her...
