  • Installing Lower Intake Manifold

I am about to reinstall my lower intake manifold and seem to be running into a problem. There is a plastic bypass pipe connecting the belt tensioner assembly and the lower intake? It seems that the pipe gets in the way from setting the manifold in place without bumping the gaskets out of position. Do I have to take the belt tension assembly off to make installing the manifold easier?

The pipe I am referring to is show in the first picture in this thread...

i always take my tensioner assembly off, than i attach that elbow onto the lower intake (after its installed) and as i re-install the tensioner assembly i just slip it right in.

    make any sense?

Perfect sense. I missed a bolt and the tension assembly wouldnt budge. After you verfied that I take it off, I looked again and found the previously missed bolt. Tension assembly is no off and the manifold will happen tonight.

      Thanks.
