last night i was drivin to my gf work and there was a cop in front of me the hole time but he gets stuck at a light then he gets behind me when i turn and puts on his light i was like wut did i do now?! he says the only reason i pulled u over was becuase u dont have a muffler and i corrected him and told him i did! i have the slp loudmouth by the way and then he comes back and asked if it was a 8 or a 6 i told him it was a 6 then he gives me a warning because of my birthday is in like 3 days.... then he tells me it is illegal to change ur exhaust from anything but stock and i was like wtf?? anyone hear of this? im from IL

basically the law is nothing over stock. Its stupid I been pulled over for that also and my office explained that you cannot change anything on the car from how it came from the dealer. Aftermarket mufflers are Off-Road use only, but that cop was just being a b**ch.

ya for real every truck out here in plainfield is loud as balls im not gonna lie my s**t is loud but i wasnt on the gas at all i was about to turn he didnt even hear it so i was pissed and then he has the nerve to tell me its not a "hot rod" anyways jerk!

Wow, that's the first time I've ever heard anything like that (about it being illegal) We have about 8 exhaust shops here in town and they are constantly packed with customers.........Meaning, just about everyone in my town has an aftermarket exhaust and the cops (not that I know of) have ever said anything about them.

the only misc/ violation they like to get people around here for is noise violation for sound systems being too loud, but they almost always let you get away with a warning saying, "Just keep it down, or at least when you are passing an officer of the law"
