what blldogg said... It can be welded up though, but you may as well just buy the v6 kit unless your getting a good deal on the other

        Here's the other difference
        98-02 LS1

        98-02 v6

        93-97 LT1

        93-97 V6

This is straight from magnaflows website. You can kind of see where the hangers are in the different setups.

I got the 93-97 lt1 #15620 exhaust waiting to be installed on my 99 v6. Theres an install write up and the only thing i think that was different is the hanger locations but can be fix by buying universal exhaust hangers.

I have the V8 magnaflow exhaust and it bolted right up... i made my own hanger for the S pipe though... pretty easy... specially if you're lucky enough to have/know someone with a lift...

            i'm very unlucky... :(

The mufflers are different between V6 and V8. The V8 mufflers are longer and cross-flow, the V6 are about 4" shorter and both pipes exit on the same side.

The V6 mufflers are tuned for a V6 and I think sound much better than the V8 muffler on a V6.

wow! Thanks for all these information. I asked because on ebay, the LT1 kit is only $388 with free shipping and a high flow cat. But the v6 kit costs $427 with free shipping and high flow cat. So I was wondering why there is such a huge price gap. BTW, typed this reply on my PSP, real pain in the a$$ to do.

Re: Any one got a pic of.....

That's the same reason I bought the 3" LT1 kit for mine, it was about $50 cheaper than the V6 kit, but I regret it now. Spend the extra and get the V6 system, you'll be happier with the sound and performance. And if you're not, I'll swap you.

I have the 15684 style muffler only it's 2.5 all the way back and I think it sounds awsome! I couldn't really tell the difference between mine and the v6 style sound wise
