I have searched and read about a 100 posts on this topic and now I have a headache so I decided to just ask. I have 2 questions. 1. Is there a way I could take 3400 intake manifold or any other intake manifold and directly swap it with my stock 3.4 SFI intake manifold for improved air flow? 2. If I could get a spare 3.4SFI intake manifold and I wanted to enlarge the size of its inside area (to improve airflow because I read the the manifold is very restrictive) what tools would I need and how hard would it be to do?

Re: Intake Manifold Swap?
If the bolt pattern to the block is the same then the only other major concern might be overall height due to part of it being under the cowl area of the firewall. To improve the inside you can get a port and polish kit sold at somewhere like summit racing. Unless you've done it before I would recommend having it done professionaly.Let's flip a coin. Heads I get tail, Tails I get head.

Re: Intake Manifold Swap?
yes it can be done.....but you have to swap the pistons, heads and upper plenum, and fuel rail as well...takes minor fabrication work....very little....but will run a little rich till you find a way to tune for it....but it also bolts on at least 40 horsepower at the rear wheel
