well i finally got out a camera and did a sound clip and im not sure if its the camera because when driving it around and at the strip it sounded ok but now i listen to this sound clip i think it sounds like crap. is it because i have stock manifolds, cat and have the resonator that came with the exhaust?
3.8 with 2.5in flowmaster American thunder 80series cat back. http://www.fquick.com/videos/1999_3....ound_Clip/1506
that's cause your listening to your exhaust from the outside, always sounds different than when you're in the drivers seat. sounds like an average ****ty flowmaster.
Yea it sounds like a typical v6 to me. If you went to a 3in exhaust and get a set of headers hat would make it sound better not to mention run more efficient.
My 2.5 Flow setup sounded deeper than that I think. Typical sound clips generally don't capture ANY of the bass sound that an exhaust makes though, so it probably sounds higher on that clip than in person.
Overall, yours doesn't sound any worse than any other mostly stock 3.8 with a catback.

so what can i do to make it sound better?
will high flow cat and !resanator make it sound better or more raspy?
Yes, ditch the resonator... I think i've told everyone that has flows to ditch that damn resonator... It'll be louder, and get deeper... More rasp from a neutral rev, but it sounds great under load.. Plus a high flow cat and a 3" s-pipe makes a huge difference.
