  • Rasp Needs to go

97 Camaro with 2.5" MagnaFlow Cat-Back system with gutted stock cat and Z-28 tips. And it has quite alot of rasp. I was thinking replace the gutted cat with a Bullet, but idk. What would you guys recommend for a cheap fix to this? I've got an O2 Sim, so I don't have to worry about throwing a code.

well, camaro862gcj has one for sale on here. It's the Dynomax Ultra Flow bullet. Was thinking about buying it, but wasn't too sure if it would help or not.

gutted cat isnt helping matters, id swap the gutted cat out for a bullet.

the rasp will never go away, it'll always be there, so dont expect it to completely go away.

I have a 97 with the magnaflow also, luckily the rasp has pretty much gone now that its broken in. I didn't gut my cat though, we still have strict emissions testing in ATL, GA.

exhuast systems DO "break in" or "burn in" and they DO change sound a little.

personally my exhuast got quiter, and it didnt pop as much. i knew exactly what rpm i could let off and make it pop, and that changed after a while, and now it changed again after the headers.

replace the cat with a performance cat converter, or OEM.

mellow the sound, loose no perforemance, and clean up yr emissions...

no emissions in FL :D I don't want to mellow the sound, I like it the way it is, just don't want it to be as raspy. Think I'm just gonna get the bullet (if my parents let me that is :( )
