          Re: Air Box Cutout

I did it on mine, a 2000, it increased airflow a little bit which helps but not much improvement on the sound. Won't hurt anything to do it.

yea improves flow, not sound really. Also get a piece of pvc pipe to replace your silencer and that will help sound. Shave the lips off the inside of the lid as well

It will make your filter dirtier faster, only downside I have found.

Don't do it if you don't feel like cleaning out your air filter every couple of months. I did it and it wasn't worth it to me in this regard. It does increase flow though.

take teh silencer out... its the part between the throttle body and lid, and more exactly, the part between the 2 rubber hose things for the intake. Take that out, and get 3" diameter pvc pipe... put it between the rubber hoses and clamp it with the clamps already on there.

so in other words its the big *** black plastic thing inbetween the hoses? it looks like its connected to the 2 tube/hose things though, and connected to a part of the radiator
