cutting out a piece of the airbox witha dremmel.. would it increase sound? is there any bad aspects of this? thanks in advance

I did it on mine, a 2000, it increased airflow a little bit which helps but not much improvement on the sound. Won't hurt anything to do it.Let's flip a coin. Heads I get tail, Tails I get head.Comment

yea improves flow, not sound really. Also get a piece of pvc pipe to replace your silencer and that will help sound. Shave the lips off the inside of the lid as wellComment

It will make your filter dirtier faster, only downside I have found.

Don't do it if you don't feel like cleaning out your air filter every couple of months. I did it and it wasn't worth it to me in this regard. take teh silencer out... its the part between the throttle body and lid, and more exactly, the part between the 2 rubber hose things for the intake. Take that out, and get 3" diameter pvc pipe... put it between the rubber hoses and clamp it with the clamps already on there.Originally posted by SourappleComment
