Re: I think I made the coolest sounding intake setup...

so is it worth breaking the fins in the air box off and using metal 4in tubing over 31/2in pvc piping? Right now i used pvc pipe wraped in electical tape with stock couplers and stock air cleaner.

I would love to do something with my intake, but I'm mechanically challenged. :( I need help.
Now fiberglass and custom painting... that's my area of expertise.

so wait, you removed the MAF screen?

I did the PVC pipe thing, removed the baffle box, took out the fins, and just ran a straight 5-6" pvc pipe from the MAF screen to the airbox.... it doesnt sound any different to me

it sounds alittle different with pvc pipe but i think with metal duct pipe it would be louder because it is so much thinner.

Re: I think I made the coolest sounding intake setup...

yep have had the MAF screen out since my first days of racing.

I have had PVC, but I had 3" imo this sounds meaner I don't know how you oculd even fit 4-5" pvc under there

Its a cost fit with 4" metal one.

Very nice, good pics too! Im going to do this too. Glad I came across this before I ended up using PVC. What size is the pipe? Diameter and length? Again nice job, and thanks!

4in! Wow, I dont see how you were able to get it around the front rubber piece! Of course you had PVC on before so yours had stretched already. As for avail, I have ppl who are in good with a local pluming company, hopefully they have it. And if not you may make a buck! And thanks for getting a measure, Id hate to get lucky and get a free pipe, and be dumb and get it too short (they will cut it at the shop for me :). So a measure would be good, thanks again!

one end is 3.5" and I think the other end was 3"

It took a little massaging to get it over the intake pipe but it fits nicely.

the passage from the lid to the pipe is still slowing your air down, if you get a whisper lid with a round passage the whole way it'll really be loud and wake the car up even more

                              @ DAS BOOT:

BTW I can cut alot of sections of pipe and sell it off, I might do it for cheap, if there is interest
I had made the same mod, but I have still the silincer inside....
can you sell me a proper piece to germany?

                              thx!
                              greetings from Germany

Cool, but you need to get a lid The stock lid has a very sharp oval exiting into the throttle body as you can see.
