      Re: intake done

im not sure. i did it all in one shot but i would say not much most of the diff came from the removal of the silencer and cutting out the bottom and the k&n

I love the sound the intake makes when the air silencer is off.

The whisper lid would remove the need for any of that fabrication he did, so it's not like it would be a modification on top of that.

That's why you take the piece out of the car before you start to dremel it. That way the little pieces of plastic don't fly into the rest of your intake.

yeah... go get a whisper lid... i did this before i got my whisper lid, exactly what you described, and theres NO replacement for a whisper lid... you won't be sad about spending the money to get one. take it from me and anyone else on this website who has one.

I'm pretty sure he meant that the melted pieces of plastic hurt when they hit skin.

i think what we are saying is that "I never had any pieces come flying off melted or not... they where cut or bent off and thats it"

yes you can.... but you need the tube. See the picture with the red arrow.

I had cutting out the complete bottom of the aircleaner housing and I removed the small struts in the lid....
And yes, I put a K&N filter inside

                                Re: intake done

just a quick question... how does it hold onto the two rubber connectors...

all 3 rubber connectors are made to attach to a hard pipe(like plastic or metal, or PVC)

Just sems like I could see a jerk or a bump maybe knock it free, unless maybt you cut a piece of 3" pipe to "line" the inside of the rubber connectors.

If you guys want, imo the best setup(I have had a few) is the one I made...
