  • 3.4 P&P throttle body installed

Got my ported and polished throttle body in the mail today. Bought it from 'Funkz' on the boards. Took me 20 minutes to get it on and running, didnt have to adjust anything. I went ahead and did the coolant bypass while I was at it. It no longer feels like im stressing the engine past 5000rpm. Also noticed the increased wheel spin from the added/relocated power I now have  Well worth it for you 3.4 guys.... Thanks Zahn

Its good that you're happy, but you won't be gaining any increase in hp that would translate to added wheel spin from a P&P throttle body

I can feel it and hear it, im getting wheel spin a few hundred rpm sooner then usual. I used to have my 2 step rev limiter set at 2600rpm before the throttle body swap. Now when I try to launch at 2600 she just wants to spin. LSD going in later this summer :)

Wow, that got to you fast! LOL I didn't figure you'd have it until tomorrow.

Glad you're happy with it, got any pics of the before/after install?

The stock TB bump stop won't allow a full 90° open, so the TPS never registers 100% throttle. Modifying that and the other work done does give the 3.4 a much more responsive throttle.

I am in the middle of a major suspension mod right now so funds are short. I'm definitely interested in picking up one of your P&P TPs.

Sure, no problem. You don't have to clean it though, I give them a thorough parts wash when I'm done with em. :)

Good to hear SF! Just shoot me an email when you're ready.

I did it when I was replacing my upper intake gasket & TB gasket, but didn't see noticable gains in it. Like I said, its good to keep it clean because a lot of carbonates pile up in there, but if we're feeling any gains its most likely our butt dyno's talking.

Your right. Maybe I didnt make a lot of hp, but I bet you the power range has shifted around enough to give me more torque at 2500rpm. I believe 3.4s make almost 200 ftlbs of torque at 2500rpm then flat line, its basically a truck engine ;) So what if that 200ftlbs is now coming on 200rpm sooner? I would think that would result better throttle response like Funkz was explaining and wheel spin hitting a few hundred rpm sooner just like I stated. Maybe I used the wrong terminology when I said "increased wheel spin". If I did sorry, hope this clears the air.

I think you have this backwards. The 3.4 doesn't make much HP until 2500+. The P&P TP moves that down a few RPMs to like 2300.

lol sorry, I ment torque not "hp" but I fixed it...
