hey guys, i tried to search and didnt quite find the exact answers i was looking for so i'd appreciate it if anyone could help me out.
i'm trying to decide which would be the best exhaust setup for my 96 v6 firebird. i was thinking about either (1): gutting the cat and putting on a 2.5in cat-back or (2): getting a 3in high flow cat, 3in. s-pipe, and a 3in. cat-back.
if i did do #1, would i need a 2.5'' s-pipe to fit the 2.5'' flowmasters cat-back? if i did do this, would the 2.25'' cat outlet be too restrictive and act as a bottleneck?
i'd would like to do #1 because it would be a little cheaper by not getting a hi flow cat, but i dont know if the gutted cat will make it sound like crap and take away from its performance???
i cant afford a borla and a magnaflow is pushing it, so flowmasters is looking the best right now cuz i really do need a new exhaust. i dont know if just gutting the cat is a bad idea or not. any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks guys.
