There are differences with how the muffler inlets/outlets are, the 98+ muffler must sit a little further back than the pre97 exhaust.
My best option that I can think of at this point would be to flip the muffler the upside down, cut off the drivers tail-pipe (which is attached to muffler, pass. is bolted on) and have it welded back on the correct direction, however, doing this will mean the tail-pipes will be roughly 6" short of the rear...
This is what I am going to have to do, however, I thought I would just see if anyone else had some suggestions or ideas of how I can get this to work without cutting the system apart (it's stainless steel, my dad said he cannot weld that metal, so I would have to take it to a shop)
so are you trying to figure out how this will mount up under your car?? I dont really understand what your asking here, cause i dont know if you mean you have this setup now or what, but my guess would be to just weld on new exhaust hangers and problem solved. The pipes from the 98 and up should fit with minor adjustment.
I'll go give it another try, maybe I was messing something up yesterday
but it seemed as both I-pipes went to the same location, which means the muffler locations were different, but I was tired so I prob. was missing something
