ok i was messing around with the car, and was planning on getting a cold air intake soon, but then i saw that if u just remove all the system, there might be a chance for just throwing a filter right onto the intake on top. i know the area would be tight, but if i found a filter to fit on and in the spot, how bad of an idea is this? i think itd ram the air in easier and also have less travel distance

Re: cold air question
sure..it'd be less distance..but in the end, your sucking up hot engine air.. and that defeats the purpose of a "COLD air intake" Do as i did as well as other and just makes a CAI yourself if your on a tight budget. But get it in a spot that gets fresh air, like the fenderwell where the CAI kits go.

Re: cold air question
I bought a $70 kit of ebay, "Chrome Intakes", came with a K&N Filter and put the filter right behind the headlights...
I got some more tubing at Menards and extended it into the fenderwell...
