Final exhaust mod part II

Well guys after much debate on this forum with part one of this thread I went ahead and did the final exhaust mod. I had a 2.5 in straight pipe where my cat was and was considering just changing my s-pipe for a 3in custom pipe. Well I went a head and switched the pipe form my y-pipe to my Borla catback into a 3in custom pipe. The car sounds a lot louder and deeper now and its weakened out the rasp so thats not as bad now. Ive also noticed a slight gain in power than before. Many said Id notice nothing and that I shouldnt do the mod but I did and I think it was worth it overall. It only cost me 50 bucks to get it done.

There is an older sound clip in the sticky which was taken in about January or so. Ill try to get a new on beginning of next week for you guys.


My full setup is CIA headers and y-pipe, custom 3in striaght and s-pipe, Borlat adjustable catback system. Also not to mention the Gt cam.

i remember your original thread, and i stil find it hard to belive you gained anything you can feel by changing such a small section of pipe, but im glad your happy with it.

there is a saying..your exhuast is only as good as it's smallest point, so i guess going to a 3" S pipe over a 2.5" might indeed do a little.

were you cammed when you posted the question originally? i think that would change things, that cam is going to want to breathe alot more than a mostly stock car would.

Yea it was in the car on my original post. Come later this month the cam will have been in the car a year.
