what is rasp and why is it bad?

Okay, newbie here

Can anyone explain to me what rasp is, and sounds like? Does anyone have a sound clip of a raspy exhaust? Why is it bad? When I think of raspy, I think of a raspy voice which is sometimes sexy??? Anyhow, is it anything like a growl, a high grrrrowl or maybe a low grrrowl or both, or niether? I am running a stock cat with a custom cat back exhaust including no muffler and trying to figure out if it sounds good or if it sounds like krap??

well to me rasp isnt bad...ive actually grown to like it lol, ever heard a rice burner in high rpms? our cars has a similair sound to 4 bangers but a little bit deeper...some hate it some like it...im beginning to love it lol

i personally hate rasp but IMO you should kno if it sounds good or if it sounds like crap simply because its a matter of personal opinion. you cant please everyone so why try? please yourself first!

well its a v6 so ive grown to like how a V6 sounds...rasp is just part of it... if u dont like it get a v8...rasp imo is NOT ricey...its how a v6 sounds...

but why would you want extra rasp? taking out the muffler and taking out the cat is only going to make our cars sound worse

edit? no just added...as far as makin it worse...well louder is better to some people, my flowmaster and cat is to quiet and the cut-out is stupid loud so im in a bind lol

theres a fine line between good loud and abnoxious loud. when i hear an obnoxiously loud car coming down the street it makes me wish i could draw a cliff on a tarp and make it fall off like in the road runner cartoons.

i agree. IMO i dont think youll like it with anything over 3,000RPMs.. but the choice is ultimately yours.

its bad only if you do not like it
