  • Header/ exhaust question

I have a 95 3.4 camaro with no aftermarket parts. I wanted to buy a SLP exhaust system and a set of headers but I don't know which headers I should choose for my application. I was looking at the pacesetter headers and they come in ceramic or painted. Which should I get for my application or should would you recommend a different set of headers?

    Re: Header/ exhaust question

pacesetter's are what most guys go for they are the most affordable...the painted would work just fine but the paint i guess does peel and they tend to rust...you can always repaint them iff they ever need it...another thing is if you getthe pacesetters you will have to get differant gaskets they paper ones tend to blow out...some people have been using the fiero headers andthey work perfect.....www.texas-speed.com has the cheapest painted pacesetters

I beleive that the headers should come with the exhaust gaskets just not the bolts. I might be wrong on this though

they come with both gaskets and bolts, but the paper gaskets they come with are absolute crap (so I've been told). I bought some gaskets from abbotracing for mine (3.8) and they were much heavier and stronger than the ones my pacesetters came with.

alright thanks I will have to get a pair of header gaskets. Also with the slp exhaust system, how far does the exhaust go, such as the whole exhaust or just to the cat?

If it's a Cat-Back system, then it should be from the catalytic converter on back. Unless you bought it used, it's most likely a cat-back system, unless it said muffler only.

3.8 headers sell for the same as the 3.4's on both sites
