Ws6 Hood on 93 ?

I saw that someone had taken a ws6 hood with ram air, and put it on a 93 3.4 firebird. I didn't think that was possible, but apparently you can buy the ram air kit?

How much does the kit usually cost? How hard is it to install?

How much more power would you get from ram air, than from what i've got now, which is a K&N CAI ?

Above all else, i just like how the hood looks compared to the stock one.

Hope someone knows some of these answers.

It will cool your engine a bit but as far as performance and such... with the price you could get alot more performance from other components. Its more or less just appearance.

If you've already got the K&N CAI then save your money and just get the hood for looks if you want. You could adapt the WS6 box to fit the 3.4 but there probably won't be much advantage in performance.

you really don't think there would be a "worth while" improvement in making the ram air hood functional? I love the look of the hood and would probably get it reguardless of whether i switched to the ram air intake. Just curious, if i got the hood and didn't switch intakes would the air rushing in help at all (keep engine cool?) or would it hurt in a way (make engine very dirty, and debris would enter?) thanx

I didn't notice any cooling benefit the years I ran the hood without the airbox.

Oh I'm sure it's less restrictive than an aftermarket CAI that puts the filters down in the wheel well, much shorter and no turns/bends. The filter does get a lot more dirt and bugs in it though.
