  • 3" tubing back from catalytic converter

Okay so this weekend im putting my headers on and my new catalytic converter, the guy at the exhaust shop was going to make a fitment to go from the 3" outlet of the converter to my 2 1/4" piping that goes to my muffler. Would 3" piping from the converter to the muffler really make a difference in the sound and performance or would it be too little to even tell, cuz if theres a big difference ill just have him run new 3"piping instead of making a fitment

What other mods do you have? Are you going to do other mods? I think you will lose some torque on a stock motor with 3" but it will sound better.

      *sigh*...

He won't "lose" torque. His peak torque might move up a bit in the powerband however.

I say do the piping. Then you can get a 3" muffler in the future and have a full 3" system.

I just went from smaller than stock tubing (1.75") to 3" and notice a nice gain. I swapped out the muffler too so that may have helped, but I noticed a nice gain, and it sounds a hell of alot better now.

You'd have to ask the previous owner about that. My exhaust looked like he did it all in his driveway with whatever he had lying around....it was crazy.....
