I do not have the funds to do a dual exhaust at this time, but would like the single exhaust to sound better than the stock. I am not sure if changing the stock muffler would help in performance, not a big deal at this time. Or, am I waisting my time just for the change in sound. Any suggestions would help.
Thanks,
Lynyrd
I am on a tight budget after moving back to Denver and having to fix my pc, that is why I do not have the funds for a full dual exhaust. :( I just wanted something to make it sound better for now. Thanks for the heads up on the split muffler.

To have dual you just buy the muffler (same as if buying a single) and then have a pipe about 2 feet long added on... thats it. It shouldn't cost you 5 bux more.

Thanks,
I just got done looking at mufflers at advanced auto parts website. Looks like I would need over $100.00 just for the muffler, then whatever it would cost for a exhaust shop do the work. I saw a Hooker muffler at the website and it was the cheapest. Looks like the cheapest way to go until I can get headers and dual set up. Used Hooker headers and mufflers on my V-8`s years ago, but not familiar with what I should use on the 3800 V-6
Search around here and other forums. You'll find someone selling a used single in dual out muffler. I actually just sold one on here about a week ago. You cand usually find them used for around $50 or so, plus shipping (like $10), then just pick up like 2-3ft of piping and have an exhaust shop weld it all up.
Thanks for the info! Sorry I did not get back to you sooner folks. Been real busy. I have a flowmaster single inlet-dual outlet on order from Jegs. Got a great deal!
