  • SS Muffler and tips.

Hey guys its been awhile since I posted but I thought I would since ive run into something recently. I just traded a 12 disc cd changer that was given to me for a factory take-off SS muffler and dual tips. I do have a 3.4L and have no catalytic converter. What do you guys think this will sound like and do you think I will get any gain from the better flowing muffler?

i actually have the exact exhaust as long as u are talking about the slp ss muffler....i have a sound clip of it under the exhaust sound clips...it sounds good down low but is fairly raspy up top...i dont have a converter either and i was thinking of maybe putting in a resonator or something to tame the rasp...i like the sound just wish it was deeper up top

You will love it, sounds awesome compared to stock. I ran an SS take off for quite a while and loved it but eventually went with something louder. I didnt notice any gains...

I have a Z28 exhaust, which is similar but not exactly the same... its louder than stock, but quieter than my aftermarket exhaust. i love it because it isn't obnoxiously loud, but you can still hear it

my cousin had an '02 SS and when he bought a magnaflow catback he gave me the SLP muffler with tips and i thought it sounded really good on my 3.4. like these guys said its not as loud as the flowmaster setup i had before, but not as loud in a good way. i didnt find any real difference in oerformance being that i only opened it up from the muffler back and didnt bother to widen it all the way from the cat. i think you will like it.
