It's hard to fine a shop around here that'll work on cars w/out cats. Anyways a buddy of mine showed me a place where he gets all his cars done at and he trusts these guys with his life basically. Heres a picture to better explain what i'm trying to do: (In bold is what I need done then i'll be done w/exhaust)

I have 3" all the way back to my s pipe, then the mid pipe and over axel pipe is from a Trans Am. The mid pipe is 2.75" and the over axel is 2.75" at the beginning and it reduces down to 2.50" at the end within the pipe itself. This will connect to my Flowmaster which is 2.50".
I chose to have it reduce down a bit because I wanted to give the engine a little backpressure and I didn't want to lose too much power down low. Plus this car may just be a bolt on, possiable rockers in the future.
...alright the guy at the shop said with that setup it might cause me to lose power and he said the single inlet into my muffler and dual outlet (aka dual exhaust) is hurting my performance. He said a single inlet/outlet would be the best option. Also he thinks I should have 2.50" all the way back so it'd tuck up better under the car and he thinks my engine doesn't need half of it being 3".
What do you guys think about all of this? I'm going tomorrow morning after work to let him look at what were dealing with then he's gunna give me some options and a quote. He said he doesn't wanna do anything that'll hurt my performance and put his name on it. He also said I might be better off just buying a cat back thats designed to give me more power. I'm doing basically the same thing I think but I have the parts laid out seperatly.
I appreciate anyone who can help me, thanks.
