"Free Ram Air Mod" ...a mistake?

I just did the "free ram air mod" to my firebird, and just read a thread that said it wasnt a good idea because it draws in hot air from underneath...this is very disheartening. I also have the WS6 hood and took out the baffles from it, so would this help to counteract drawing in hot air? how can I fix this? or is the free ram air mod worth it after all and im just being paranoid haha. i want my car to be best it can be. thanks

does the volant system work a lot better with that shield?? cause it looks fairly unatractive...but if it works better ( and is cheaper haha ) i think it would be more worthwhile.

well you can imagine the outside air going right through the hood and into the filter... the box seals off the air inside the bay when the hood is shut so that the only air entering is through the hood nostrils.

do you know if the volant system ( the second link ) comes with the filter? it doesnt say anywhere in the paragraph whether it does or doesnt...and i dont want to get shafted. thanks.

I have no clue... email them and they will let you know. If it doesn't then just get a K&N to throw on there

my buddys got the Volant Cold Air Induction for his S10 SS and it came with a blue filter, so im going to go with it does

just hope it does and at the worst you will have to drive to an autoparts store when it comes in. Since its volant then I'd say it probably does come with one.
