what would cause a 95 firebird with a 3.4 to backfire when I let off the gas after getting on it pretty hard? It sounds like someone cracking the right rear fender well with a hammer?

that isnt really a backfire, a backfire is caused by a cylinder missfire, im guessing your exhaust just doesnt have very much back preassure, which isnt a big deal.
