so apparently exhaust tips need to stick out past the body? i went to get my car inspected, and the guy told me this. he let it slide, but told me to get it done asap. im running without tips, and i kind of like it... but whatever.
i dont want to spend like 150 on a set of designer tips...
what tips are you guys running?

I personally have Z-28 tips. But, my rear gfx has two opening on each side that they fit real nicely into. If I didn't have that, I'd probably have some corsa clones or something.
it might just have to pass the basic body line. im not sure where it is, but it is a law. pretty stupid, its my choice if i kill myself with exhaust fumes!

that's complete bull$hit. Stock exhausts on our cars have turndowns that don't go past the body, and there's no way GM could/would have put a car out that wouldn't meet state regs. Find the exact wording of the law...I'm willing to bet it says something along the lines of "the exhaust must exit behind the passenger compartment," which turndowns and your exhaust satisfy
kristen, the tips that look like the 2OTL were on it when i bought it, sounded like crap. then the other ones were the Ractive ones that i got with the rumbler... and you heard what they sounded like! :s

no i didnt! i have to drive up to NY next saturday to pick my dad up from the end of a week long bike ride from niagara falls-manhattan, and i was planning on swinging by you beforehand.
