    Re: Hesitation after CAI install

XD I know, I know. It's dirty. That's like the only part of the car that I don't religiously clean. And I paid $48 for it on ebay. It would have costed me more to go to AutoZone and make it. I already looked. It seemed like a good deal compared to the outrageous $210 K&N CAI. I've heard of people actually losing power after installing a CAI. Like now, I don't get the launch that I used to (and that's what's killing me), but I do see more power in the upper RPM ranges. Would I be better off to go back to the stock airbox and just drop a K&N air filter in that or what?

PS - BTW, I'm gonna clean it soon. :D

you would prolly make more HP with that over the stock air box. I think the stock air box has a smaller outlet over all and I would assume that would be colder air where it is at.

thanks a lot. I'm using some Fram air filter now. Would it be wiser to switch to a K&N? I'd think that would give me some HP, right?

          better air flow? probably.
more hp? not really. if your butt dyno can feel the possible 1-2 hp increase, by all means go for it.

in the long run, its going to be better to get the k&n than have the fram.

Thanks a lot. I appreciate all the help. I would have reinstalled the stock air setup today, but it looked like rain. :P

i'd look into AEM dryflow panel filter, a drop in factory filter
