I finally got the CAI that I won on ebay today for my 93 3.4 camaro. I assembled it, took out the old airbox and whatnot, and installed it. I have 2 concerns as of now. One: When I punch the gas, the engine revs some, but hesitates before the car actually starts really moving, whereas before I did the install, that didn't happen. Two: In the intake elbow (where the MAF and what have you are) I found a small bit of oil there. That sort of concerns me. What do I need to do to fix these problems? And what of the oil? Is there a problem there? Oil pressure seems fine! Help appreciated! Oh and under-hood noise seems louder, but is it just me? It doesn't seem like it.

Re: Hesitation after CAI install
it sounds like you might have a header leak by the block. If the leak is great enough it could cause hesitation through a misfire. The oil might throw the MAF off.Last edited by derkyboy187; 08-07-2007, 10:14 PM.

Re: Hesitation after CAI install
ghetto? no. Name brand? no again. I'll try to get some pics up, but I can't promise anything. And the oil was motor oil. It was maybe 2 tablespoons worth, but I think it was there since before I owned the car. There doesn't seem to be a problem with that. It was there when I took the stock air induction system off. The car ran fine before I took it off, now, like I said, it hesitates when I punch the gas.Originally posted by LETZRIDEI've never touched a rear end before

Re: Hesitation after CAI install
ok...I'll do my best to get some pics up. As for the hesitation, I payed more attention to it today and it seems like it doesnt want to really pick up and move until about 2500 RPM. When rolling at 40 mph, the car is at about 1000. When I punch the hell out of the throttle at that speed and RPM, the car doesnt really pick up until about 2500. lol. I've noticed a NICE difference in power at around 3500-4000 RPM. I'll try to have some pics up by tomorrow afternoon. Oh and there's no ticking. By snarl, what do you mean exactly? And yeah. I love the sound it makes now! :DLast edited by turbohead2332; 08-08-2007, 07:05 PM.Originally posted by LETZRIDEI've never touched a rear end before

Re: Hesitation after CAI install
how much did you pay for that??? you could have just went to a local store (such as autozone) and built that... speakin of autozone... they sell that top tube at mine. along with the rubber connector.
Like everyone else said... No silencer box = more noise ;)
But..on my 00' 3.8 I rigged up a decent CONE air cai and it ran like crap... so i just stuck with my slp cai. Never did find the problem and it kinda still bugs me.
P.S
clean up the bay man..:omg:Last edited by slpbirdy00; 08-11-2007, 11:25 PM.
