hey guys ive been trying to get the passenger head off my 3.4 because im doing a cam kit so i need to change the valve springs, so i tried everything to break those exhaust manifold bolts loose but still wont go. ive cut most of the pipe just before the weld on the straight pipe but i cant get to the rest because of the angle and lack of space around the pipe, so anyone have any suggestions on getting this pipe off? oh and the drivers side is already done and that side is cut too so basically im taking the y-pipe off and dont worry i already bought ceramic headers.

Re: any suggestions?
You pressurize the cylinder to hold the valves in place while you remove/install the springs.
You need to have two special tools.
1) a valve spring compressor tool
2) air line adaptor for Spark Plug hole.
first remove the spark plug from the cylinder where you want to change the springs.
install the air line adaptor and attach an air line to the adaptor.
pressurize the cylinder throught the air line and adaptor.
install the spring compression tool
compress the spring with the spring compression tool
remove the spring retainers collars.
release the spring pressure.
remove the spring and and retainer.
Installation is reverse. Now Playing: \'99 Pewter Firebird, stock, bone stock, and nothing but stock, so help me God!
Comming attractions: K&N Filter, Lid Mod, Intake Bellows Smooth Pipe Mod.
I dream about: Forced Induction (TC or SC) or NOX (or both!)

Re: any suggestions?
Compressing the valve spring without the proper tool can be done. But it's going to be hard as hell and whatever you use (in the way of a tool) will probably slip off and you'll end up hurting yourself or damaging something. Go rent the tool and save yourself alot of heart ache!
