stud removal

i am in the middle of a header install and im not sure what to do with the stud i the middle of the head on the drivers side(97 rs4life's car domain pacesetter guide gives a good pic of this) there are 2 studs on each side that seem to not want to come out and the and they are a diffrent design than the studs that did come out. the new headder will not go in the driver side so my question is how did you remove it with out breaking something?

try removing the steering shaft for more room. also u might be able to use a vice grip on it

thread on two nuts, lock them together, then use the nut nearest the head to thread the stud out. Done it countless times on my race motors.

thanks guys. i tried to get around not removing the steering but i couldnt get 2 nuts locked together. so i got the steering out of the way it wasnt as bad as i thought it would be. i will post sound clips and pics when im done
