You don't change them. You have to splice (braze) the early model tubing to the later model at the A/C compressor. The tubing on the later models is routed different.

There were pictures in a post from long ago, but I haven't found it yet.

Any chance you would modify the passenger header to make it fit 95-97 models also?

We would consider it, but we would need a car to do it.

I have a question about price. I have found multiple sites selling ceramic coated Pacesetters headers with the Y-pipe for less than $350. I saw on your site that you charge $450 for your headers, and an additional $150 for your Y-pipe. How is it that you get away with charging over $600 for your headers and Y-pipe? Is it that much better than Pacesetters that makes it worth over $250 more? I'm not, in any way, trying to bash your price, product, or way of selling...I'm just your everyday buyer that wants the best deal, and the best product. Thank you.

                Yes!

I've seen both. You get what you pay for.

Sorry, Dan.... I'll let you answer that a little better now

Don't get me wrong, we've all been 18 before and understand how expensive our hobby can be. Honestly, in your spot, I would go for what made financial sense right now. If that's Pacesetter's, cool. After you get a chance to install them, find someone you can put your car next to and see the difference. Then compare war stories of the install, leaks, etc.

Oh... and I still find the best deal I can on everything I buy! And I'm old :D

                      Re: Clear Image says hello!!!

I definetly wanted to buy CIA header/y-pipe, and now its on sale sweet!

If I oder them now, i know that it might take 3-4 weeks since they are custom made to order, but how much longer would it take to make them and ship out the group purchase (if we get enough people)?

Can we get a thread for people to sign up on this gp, or is this the place :)

No worries, we understand, so please consider the following:

Our headers are expensive because they are the best. Period. And what I mean by that is, we are a small shop, we don't have the resources to compete with large mass produced header companies. However, because we are small we can give a lot of attention to the products we do make. We use only American made components whenever possible. We also do all of our own bending and fabrication, NOT farming any of our production out to other countries in order to cut costs. We go the extra mile to make 100% welds when we can and debur when most companies would not bother. Using 14 gage tubing instead of the standard 16 or 18 and thicker header flanges results in headers that fit perfect and do not leak. So, we build a high quality product and then give it extra love to make it better.

I hope that answers your question. If there is anything else you would like to know, please don’t hesitate to ask.

So would it be worth it to buy the Clear Image headers even though I have a 96 camaro or would it be better to buy the pacesetter ones?

man this sucks...i wish i had the money for these headers so i could get in on this discount action. but of course...life bones me and i dont haha. i want my Firebird to be the best it can be, and i dont feel like dealing with potential leaking from pacesetters... what about the gaskets though? i hear CIA gaskets are not what one would want. so where do i get gaskets?

for $30 CIA gaskets I would hope they work.

Also abbott's has some great gaskets that most people use and there haven't been any leaks because of those gaskets. They are like 30 bucks as well but are on backorder
