  • Help my exhaust!

First of all, the other day I took the car to my mechanic to be checked out, make sure everything works like it should. We noticed that the car was a bit loud (understatement of the day?) when we got it, so obviously we got it up on a lift to check it out... no muffler. :p And to my "surprise" one tip was entirely rusted through in a couple spots.

    Which brings me here.

I didn't actually get to go under the car myself, but my dad says that there is very little clearance between the exhaust and driveshaft, which I guess eliminates anything there. Although I still think I could fit a glasspack... If not, what kind of muffler would you recommend to go in the stock location? Since F-Bodies have such strange stock mufflers, it kind of narrows my options a bit, but I'm not exactly sure what all is out there. Any help would be great.

get a flo-pro muffler, they are cheap but my brother has one on his 99 bird and it sounds good. His piping is still the original and he just slapped on the muffler.

I cut out the cat and slapped a magnaflow into the stock pipes and out to the stock tips. I loved it....then I put headers on and relearned the meaning of love!!!

You do have lots of options. I went with Flowmaster and I am very happy with the sound.

edelbrock SDT muffler, flows really well, sounds pretty nice (low rumble), you can get one for like 108$ brand new.

for like twice as much though you could just get their full catback assembly.
