Hope this isn't too many pics. Just figured the more the merrier in giving a good idea the angle and placement I put mine. Which is a summit cutout, 2.25" thru-pipe and 3" cutout/flange.
Need to weld it eventually, the clamps were supposed to be temp but to be honest time got away from me.
No vibrations, no rattles, nothing. Nice and tight believe it or not. One of these days I'll either finally have it welded or just pick up a TSP Rumbler. The cutout was a feeler for me to see if I liked the sound before spending the cash on a rumber, but now my mind is made up. :)
If you say 2.25" (after the cat) where exactly should it be placed and what angle?
get whatever size your exhaust piping is. if it's post-cat, most put it on the I-pipe near the back seat. on a stockish car, placement really only determines how loud it is...further up in the exhaust, it's going to be louder, further back and it's going to be quieter
I got my electric cutout and they had to raise my exhaust because the adapter that it comes with will scrap the hell out of the concrete and I just got this fixed yesterday.
I even had problems going up the ramp with my electric cutout and it never did that until I got the electric one.
On a good note it only costed me nothing but I tipped the guy 5 bucks just for helping me
Well since I ordered one already, as far as wiring I was looking around in my car for where to put the switch, and I was thinking, put it in the removable ash tray thing. It pops right out and you can see right under it, so it would have good fuse access if it blew out, but, how do you get to it? Isn't there like a grommet under the seat and then would I just run it under the carpet and into the console?
Ran the wire from the cutout to the switch from the rubber stopper in the bottom of the passenger back seat
For the switch, I just cut the wires for the cig. ash tray light, and put the switch in there...it gives you your power (gray wire) and the ground (black wire) that you'll need, and the fuse is easy to find/replace
Hey will a fog light switch work with the cutout somehow?
I might want to get some type of switch to put next to where the foglight switch is (by the plaque), and is there a way to get like a foglight switch to work with the cutout? It should be here like friday or monday and I want to do it clean and maybe not have a switch in my ashtray.. but if it won't work I guess I can do that.. but I know there has to be a way to make it work.. it's just a switch.

the foglight switch won't work for a cutout...you need a switch with a neutral position in the middle.
Alright I got my cutout all installed and everything. Put the cutout on that gap under the rear seat.. Most of you said it would be really loud, but it's not.. It's WAY louder than stock, but it's not what some people made it seem.
Anyways, I have blown 3 fuses already... what the ****? It happens when I get to the stopping point, but I guess go a tiny bit too far, and I hear a pop, and my switch won't work anymore.
I think it came with a 5A, I replaced it with another 5A, that one blew and I put a 10A, that one blew and I put in a 15A.. they aren't just blowing right when I put them in obviously or I would know it's a wiring problem. It happens right when I hit the stopping point.. I guess I just need better timing.
What is the problem? Is it just that I should not be hitting the stopping point? I even did what the instructions said, and hold it for 4 seconds then tap a few times, but every once in a while on that last tap I hear the pop. The reason I went up in amps is because those were the only fuses I had.
