works better without cats... they only effects the size of the flames and the length that they come out. On a stock firebird v6 the flames will only occur around 3k + and I doutb they would even reach 2 feet out the back. It would almost look like a lighter. Not worth it imo on your car. Its not rather or not you have a v8 compared to a v6 its more along the lines of having a carb or fuel injection.

How does it work and will it ruin the exhaust system? I saw the kit for only fifty bucks, so if it doesn't hurt, hell, why not?

so what your saying is gut the cat and add bigger injectors and i would get 2 foot flames.

no... gut the cat and you have to increase your fuel ratio. You also have ignition bypass which works by shutting down the vehicle ignition system which allows raw fuel to flow through the cylinders and exhaust system until it is ignited at the end of the tail pipe by the flamethrower kit. Well, thats the cheapest way... then you install the plugs in the exhaust and hook up everything else. Google "Flames exhaust" and search around. There are some cheap ones that are crap and expensive that are crap... you just gotta look around.

My buddy, well a guy I know, has this brand on his truck... they are small and kinda rice is you ask me.

Actually a lot of headers and exhaust companies say *50 state legal* and even if it was enforced in your state not to have an aftermarket exhaust. I’m pretty sure if you revved w/ aftermarket exhaust in front of a cop, he would think you were dumb, if you shot flames out at him....that’s another story.

I don't see where the story about shooting flames out your exhaust all the time occured. Mine has a switch and I've probably used it 5 times and it was just to show my friends and once at a car show.
