  • My exhaust is DEAD

    1) passenger side tip rusts through and falls off in a Target parking lot
    2) broken exhaust hanger rattles and vibrates like crazy
    3) driver side tip starts to hang low, not sure why
    4) The splitter for the duals (straight pipes) cracks at the weld, no telling how long it will hold...

My question is this, I want to just finish it off before I get my new exhaust on this week (Dynomax SS with custom 2 1/2" tube from the cat). So I was thinking about just taking a reciprocating saw to the tube before the axle, i was just worried it would hang too low without a hanger there. Anyone know, or would it be better to cut further from the axle and strap a turn-down on for the time being?

I had a turn down after the S-pipe for a while. Not the best, it'll warm your gasoline up a bit. Do a side pipe :)

Cut it right behind the cat and have fun for a few days.

Well, after running nothing but straight pipes (although in a few different configurations...) since I bought the car, I finally had the exhaust redone. Let's just say it's underwhelming. I believe the muffler is a Magnaflow or of similar design, but when I got under the car to look at it, I thought I was gonna puke when I saw a crunch-bent pipe. It doesn't sound half bad, just a bit quieter than I'm used to. I was really starting to like my straight pipes... :(
