alright my best friend just bout a 99 firebird with a 3.8 it came with a exhuast system. he brought the car to my house and i noticed how loud it was... i look under the car and it looks like someone cut out a about a 4x4 inch hole out of the muffler. and the exhaust comes straight out of it.. i was wondering is that hindering any performacne what so ever?? i told him i thought it was but wasnt sure. so i figured i would ask you guys cuz u know alot more about it then me

woot... bringing back old threads while searching... anyway, since nobody answered your... not too old question. i don't think it will change performance, i think it would just make it sound a little louder/raspier... some people make a 4 inch or so cut right before the muffler like a cut-out...but im not really sure...
