i have a couple of questions for u exhaust gurus. im planning on doing side exit exhaust on my car. thinking of a flowmaster and i want the exhaust to exit behind my doors infront of the back tires. my setup i was planning was a flowmaster 80 series with bowtie tips behind the doors. my question is does the heat from the exhaust effect the back tires? i have vette wheels on my car and will the exhaust leave black smoke on my wheels? how about clearence?

Re: side exit exhaust
well i went to many exhaust shops and they said they couldnt do it cuz the exhaust would hang to low and the flowmaster 80 series is to big and theres no room under there to put it. so i just went with what everyone is does and put duals out the back with square camaro tips. also they took off my cat and its sounds OK not the tone i was lookin for. imma try a diff setup and see what happens. maybe put a cat on it. i guess u cant really make the v6 sounds deep without installing cam and other mods.

Re: side exit exhaust
well if the exhaust shop here does not let me do side, then I will guage the price of having it put over the axle. now you said they took off the cat.. on true duals? thats stupid. when true duals are put on our car, unless you have a blower or cam you want all the backpressure you can get. Also did you have an H or X pipe?WE CAN REBUILD IT, WE HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY

also if a cop looks under your car and you dont have a cat, and they are ****s, they will slap you w/ a nice $1500 fine..
thats also the reason i will be buying 2 highflow cats, eventually XDWE CAN REBUILD IT, WE HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY

Re: side exit exhaust
nah i got a receipt and on there it says removal of cat. i guess in Texas they can remove it, but i do know that alot of the inspection places check to see if u have a cat. and no i ddnt install true duals. i did flowmaster 80 series(1 in 2out). it sounds ok at low idle but when i get past 3k it sounds ****ty. and u dont need back pressure its just a myth like someone mentioned. i think theres a thread on here or fullthrottlev6 about that.
Meatyshells- im with u on running catless. the place where i get my emmision tests here in texas doesnt check anything.

Re: side exit exhaust
okay backpressure is a myth when the set up is right. if you have enough power to support having completely free flowing exhaust (with true duals) then backpressure takes no effect.
but other then that, backpressure is sure as hell not a myth.WE CAN REBUILD IT, WE HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY
