    Re: EGR leak

high temp silicon is a temperary fix and jb weld doesnt work so dont try it. it cant handle the heat. As for the egr, it's on there for a reason and you could actually lose hp and mpg by removing it, search the internet for the function of the egr and the results of removing it

      Re: EGR leak

It doesn't seem like anyone reads my posts, but please listen to this one. If you pull the EGR, without a tune. Use PREMIUM fuel. EGR helps prevent knocking and detonating, so without it you need to use a fuel that burns slower.

Removing EGR will not affect fuel mileage or horsepower either way.
I dunno about an EGR sim for 70 bucks.....
I would live with the check engine light until you get a tune.
You can make your own block off plates for dirt cheap.

Um... really? I would just find another place to bolt the dipstick too, or just leave it loose.

Thats odd tho, I have a 2000 an the dipstick tube is attached to the head I think.

yeah they changed the 3.8's around like 3 times since 1995, but if i left it loose it would come out of the block...not good

Just but the dipstick and tube for the 2000 and bolt it to the head.
