Problems With MagnaFlow Exhaust & Stock Hangers!

hi, i have a '96 3.8 and i'm installing a magnaflow catback (P/N 15693). i have everything on and mounted up except for one problem. the system won't fit on the stock exhaust hangers! the hangers need to be about 1-1.5 inches lower than they are. has anyone else had this problem while installing this catback? would like some info on how to get these hangers (they are stock for a y87 setup) to work correctly or which hangers i need to buy. if anyone has any answers, please, let me know. thanks

maybe it's because that is 98-02 system. the exhaust# for the 93-97 3.4/3.8 system is 15694. maybe you will need 98-02 hangers then.

whomp whomp... yeah, if you take it to an exhaust shop, i'm sure they could remedy the problem for a small fee... it would save you the headache...

the box and instructions say for 15693/15694....1993-2002 GM camaro/firebird v6 3.4/3.8! how do you figure there are separate systems for the 93-97 and 98+? http://www.ftpp.net/V6Main.htm - shows 96-02 for 3.8's???

ok, i saw a pic on the boards that show the hangers are different on the 98+. wonder why the site listed it as 96-02 if they have different system hangers? the hangers on the exhaust are in the right location, they just hang to low to loop thru the hangers in the body. i really don't have time to get 98+ body hangers. does anyone know about a universal hanger from a parts store? ever used these? thanks for any help.

Hangers are completely DIFFERENT between the 93-97 and 98+. I've seen many parts sold as 93-02 but ONLY fit 98+. Something anyone who has a 93-97 needs to be aware of.
